Airports are critical infrastructure and, according to the NIS2 directive and CER, the Critical Entities Resilience Act, both coming into force in 2025, are required to do background checks on employees and businesses. That's why Billund Airport has introduced an automatic screening solution
Billund Airport has implemented a solution from P-Secure that automates the process of conducting statutory background checks on new employees and suppliers who need access to the airport's security areas.
This automation saves the HR department and security personnel significant time, as manual checks of CVs and physical audits of suppliers can now be done digitally. Users upload the necessary documentation themselves, which reduces errors and ensures that the airport receives the correct information immediately.
The P-Secure solution is already in use at Copenhagen Airport and airports in Greenland. Billund Airport has contributed input to the development and has had a smooth implementation process since October 2024.
